Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the urgent protective measures provided for in the Maria da Penha Law, especially within the context of the municipality of Santa Inês, considering their importance as instruments for protecting victims of domestic and family violence. To this end, the concepts related to the subject were examined, highlighting their legal and social relevance in promoting the safety, dignity, and integrity of women in vulnerable situations. Furthermore, part of the legislative framework concerning the matter was addressed, with emphasis on the Maria da Penha Law and other related regulations, as well as jurisprudential and doctrinal understandings relevant to the topic, in order to provide a better understanding of the issue. Likewise, the study sought to present the challenges involved in implementing urgent protective measures, as well as the consequences arising from their non-compliance or violation, especially regarding victim protection and the prevention of recurrent violence. The study also examined the institutional and governmental mechanisms aimed at ensuring the effectiveness of these measures, analyzing the role of the agencies responsible for their application and enforcement in the municipality of Santa Inês. In conclusion, although urgent protective measures constitute an important instrument in combating domestic and family violence, challenges related to their effective implementation still remain. Nevertheless, there have been significant legislative and institutional advances capable of strengthening victim protection and contributing to the achievement of the objectives established by the Maria da Penha Law.
