Graciliano Ramos e o perfil feminino desenhado em Sinhá Vitória: forças e fraquezas da personagem na obra “Vidas secas”

Abstract

This course conclusion work intends to study the human female profile in the work <Vidas Secas= by the Brazilian modernist author Graciliano Ramos, through the character Sinhá Vitória, seeking to identify how the design of such a profile can be analyzed (in the light of Brazilian modernist literature ) and, if it is possible to determine that Sinhá Vitória exerts force on the plot and on the other characters of the work (catalyzed by his dreams) or if this is just another secondary character. For this purpose, this research is inserted in the great and rich area of Brazilian Literature, giving emphasis to Modernist Literature and in a more specific way, to Prose de Trinta, clipping where the referred work is. Thus, in order to support the theories that will be exposed in this analysis, books, articles and studies by authors such as: Candido (1992), Castro (2001), Reis (1993), Holanda (1992), Graciliano (1938) will be used among others that deal with the aforementioned work and, in a special way, about the character Sinhá Vitória and his role within the plot. The present work is structured in chapters that start the research of the macro (talking about Brazilian modernist Literature and Graciliano Ramos) to the micro (entering the work and the profile of the human female character within the plot), so that the reader understands the contextualization of the thematic and its importance for the academic-scientific world.
