Grupo de apoio ao turista do BPTUR: efetivação do policiamento especializado no atendimento ao turista

Abstract

The theme of this study revolves around the importance of the Tourist Assistance Group (GAT) within the Battalion of Tourism (BPTur) of the Military Police of Maranhão (PMMA). The objective of this work is to analyze the image that the GAT has within the BPTur and what is its importance for society in Maranhão, in order to seek ways to optimize the work of the group, with the main intention of improving the treatment of tourists. To this end, a methodology for this work is divided into two stages. Initially, the exploratory and bibliographic revision character, in which extensive research is carried out on the respect for the history and structure of BPTur and GAT, and of tourism in Brazil and Maranhão. The second stage has the character of an interview, divided into questionnaires applied to 47 BPTur officers and personal interviews with employees of battalions specialized in tourism in other Brazilian states. As a result, it is noticeable or disconnected at some level of BPT police officers or with respect for the structure and functioning of the GAT, in addition to being evidenced by the difficulty of employees in speaking a foreign language. Finally, it is demonstrated the need to expand the number of GAT, as well as the specialization of the group, justified by its relevance in the treatment of tourists
