Análise da figura feminina nos contos Uma Galinha, de Clarice Lispector e o Caçador de Borboleta, de Agualusa

Abstract

This work aims to analyze the female figure in the works “the chicken”, by Clarice Lispector and “the butterfly hunter” by Jose Eduardo Agualusa. Through these stories, the changes that have taken place throughout history on the condition of women in the last century and their social evolution in the post-modern era are listed. In "the chicken" the author addresses the woman as an object of use for the man, without a voice, incapable of carrying out any non-domestic chores, with a value only for motherhood, being inferior to males, thus their importance in society is associated in obeying her husband. However, in the work “the butterfly hunter” the author shows us another point of view regarding female behavior. Agualusa makes it clear in her tale that postmodern women are not tied to the condition imposed on them by a sexist culture that reigned for long traditions for years, current femininity does not accept being manipulated and seek its valorization by demanding their rights as citizens. Thus, the research problem in this investigation is how is the female role in society presented in the aforementioned tales? And based on the contents, objectives and methodologies applied in this work, which resulted in a bibliographical investigation, based on the analysis of the stories in their different episodes. Also approaching topics that deal with the literary styles of each storyteller and about the female identity and the search for the self. Given this reality, it is possible to affirm the relevance of the writing of each short story whose work presents a questioning of the condition imposed on the female by the patriarchal culture
