A importância da linguística no ensino da língua portuguesa como ferramenta de combate ao preconceito linguístico

Abstract

The present work had the objective of verifying the importance of linguistics in teaching Portuguese as a tool to combat linguistic prejudice in the School Unit Professor Manfredo Viana, in the 9th year of elementary education located in Itapecuru-Mirim, MA. To do so, the bibliographic research was used as methods together with a field research, quantitative and qualitative, being carried out through observation, interview and application of questionnaires. This objective arose when it was noted in the Portuguese language a focus on traditionalist teaching, a factor that centralizes normative grammar, treating it as if it were the only correct form, thus neglecting the other linguistic varieties, which will entail in the prejudice to the other varieties, which are classified as erroneous before the standard. However, how is it possible to teach the contents of Portuguese without neglecting the other linguistic varieties? Does the current model of education promote linguistic prejudice? Is there linguistic prejudice in the classroom? How do teachers and students deal with these issues in relation to language? Based on these concerns, the need for a better understanding of these questions arose and, to that end, the insertion in the classroom environment became essential, since direct contact with the teachinglearning space allows a better observation of how the teachers and students coexist with a traditionalist model of education in view of the new perspectives, contributions and reflections of Linguistics for the teaching of Portuguese Language. The result of the research was promising because it brought a lot of contribution in relation to the main objective of the work, proving that there is really an interference of the linguistic prejudice in the development and learning of the students.
