Abstract

This work does a historical review about the Laboratory and Drugstore João Victal de Mattos as a individual building and as the last years attempts of its restoration. It does intend to understand the patrimonial process of the protected ensemble, the relationship that the community has with the government sectors and the value that the protected ensemble increase to the estate which already has the affection of the owners. It develops the concept of estate as a inheritance, not only a particular inheritance, but a collective one so far as it can be collective. Asks the reason of the bad direction and the estates abuses faced and try thru that, find out the disagreed that has between the state agents and the owners of the protected ensembles, trying to understand the current status of the Drugstore and its urban context.
