Donkeys are used as a working tool for several families on the island of São Luís - MA. The present helminth parasites in equine causes various clinical manifestations that can lead the animal to death. Changes in body tissues may trigger changes in blood profile and some serum proteins. The analysis of blood cells evaluates the cellular elements of blood and, as well as the proteinogram, provides information essential to establishing the diagnosis and control of the evolution of diseases. To find out if there is some interaction between parasitism of stomach and intestine and pulmonary parasites and between them and white cell count, hematocrit and serum protein concentrations were evaluated 130 donkeys on the island of Sao Luis-MA. With the feces of animals, held a count of OPG and fecal culture for the evaluation of parasitism of stomach and intestine and Ueno modified technique for detecting pulmonary helminth larvae. With these data, the animals were distributed into four groups: 500 EPG (negative and positive for Dictyocaulus arnfieldi) and OPG> 500 (negative and D. arnfieldi). Data were analyzed by analysis of variance (ANOVA) and comparisons of means were subjected to tests of Tukey and Chi-square test (p <0.05). Was the high percentage of animals infected with D. arnfieldi. The presence of larvae of D. arnfieldi influence the amount of OPG. The main hematological characteristics were decrease in the percentage of erythrocytes, leukocytosis, eosinophilia, monocytopenia, lymphocytosis, neutropenia, increased the percentage of rod and hypoproteinemia. Most hematological changes occurred in group OPG> 500 and D (+). Only in eosinophilic animals, the interaction OPG x D. arnfieldi was significant. Was detected 22 proteins, and of these, only 10 were identified and analyzed, by its diagnostic significance. No significant differences between groups in concentrations of total protein and serum. The animals were parasitized, mainly, by helminths of stomach and intestine, Cyathostominae, Strongylus vulgaris, S. edentatus, Trichostrongylus axei e. Strongyloides westeri; The percentage of animals infected by D. arnfieldi was high, but the animals were asymptomatic. The most significant changes in blood in response to free riding was eosinophilia. There is no relationship between free riding and changes of serum proteins in the species studied.en
