(Re)existência feminina: um olhar sobre a (re)construção da personagem Macabéa em "A hora da Estrela", de Clarice Lispector

Abstract

Historically, the female subject has been constituted by social interferences of stereotypes that determine her condition: that of being a woman. Therefore, thinking about the female condition as an agent of transformation and resistance struggles for the right to equality means reacting to the complexity of her position in a society where misogyny is still constantly manifested. Thus, through this study, we intend to analyze how the female representation in Macabéa from Clarice Lispector's The Hour of the Star is constituted, and subsequently, to identify the elements of (re)construction of the character. To this end, a bibliographic and qualitative research was carried out, in which we sought to highlight how historical, ideological, and social influences affect the character's behavior, pointing out her aspects of resistance through writing. In this sense, attention was paid to the study of the historical and social roots of the various attempts at erasure and silencing, which reinforce and perpetuate the patriarchal stigmas attributed to women. Furthermore, for the theoretical foundation of this work, the following were used: Simone de Beauvoir (2009), Angela Davis (2016), Judith Butler (2018), Heleieth Saffioti (2015), Pierre Bourdieu (2002), and Catherine Walsh (2013), among others. Consequently, during the research, the writing of female authorship was noted as a fundamental instrument regarding the visibility of women in the various social spheres in which they occupy a space of belonging
