Relação entre o uso das redes sociais e transtornos mentais em jovens: uma revisão integrativa da literatura

Abstract

The internet over the years has become more necessary for carrying out daily activities, as it offers easy access to an abundant amount of entertainment, educational materials and a vast arsenal of instant communication tools, filling the eyes of the beholder with its ease. one click away. Contrasting the benefits of access, some side effects arise from the rampant use, causing problems of behavioral interaction in the social and family environment, as well as changes in lifestyle, such as the search for a refuge in social networks, as an alternative channel for socializing. The general objective of the present study was to analyze the literature on the relationship between mental disorders in young people and the use of social networks. While the specific objectives were to identify the average time spent by young people on social networks, investigate mental disorders in young people associated with the exaggerated use of social networks and understand the relationship between social networks and the emergence of mental disorders in young people. The methodology adopted was an integrative review of the literature from the databases Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences (LILACS), Online System of Search and Analysis of Medical Literature (MEDLINE), Spanish Bibliographic Index in Health Sciences (IBECS), Nursing Database (BDENF) following three main steps: identification of the topic and selection of the research question, establishment of inclusion and exclusion criteria for the present study, definition of information to be extracted from the studies. The present work sought to contribute to a reflection on the subject and future research. The present research is justified in the current social scenario of expansion of the internet and social networks in order to understand the role that exposure to social networks represents in the development of mental disorders in young people.
