Os reinos antigos de Kusk, Axum e Cartago em sala de aula: uma análise do livro didático Teláris (2018) na Escola Municipal Santo Antônio

Abstract

This monographic research deals with the Teaching of Ancient History of the Kush, Axum and Carthage peoples in the classroom to students of the 6th of Elementary School of the Santo Antônio Municipal School - Panaquatira (São José de Ribamar). The Teaching of Ancient History has a huge contribution to the students of the 6th grade, which covers both in school life and also to citizenship, especially to Afro-descendants in the process of identity formation, and to the affirmation of an African historicity being praised from the classroom, such action will contribute to the overcoming of prejudices, historical reparation with the Teaching of History of African peoples that only through Law 10.639/2003 became mandatory the Teaching of History of African peoples. To this end, the textbook is still the main pedagogical material 7 used in the classroom and in most of these books there is a silencing of the History of the Kush, Axum and Carthage peoples in the textbook, if it was intended to observe the importance of the textbook for student learning. To achieve these results, an analysis was carried out in the textbook Telaris (2018), and to evaluate the learning of these students about the African peoples (Kush, Axum and Carthage) a questionnaire was applied about the importance of History, the relationship with the textbook, and the learning or contact with the Kush, Axum and Carthage peoples. The research revealed that there is a silencing and minimization of the approach to these peoples in the textbook, which reflects on the learning of students in the 6th grade of Elementary School, with 90% of the public unaware of these African peoples. Thus, there should be a commitment of textbooks to the Teaching of History of African peoples to the same extent and relevance of other peoples, and an active commitment in the teaching of these peoples by teachers in the classroom.
