Abstract

This course completion work aims to show how fantastic literature and the work Harry Potter has an influence on the formation of readers of all ages, whether children, young people or adults. Analyze the work that is a sales phenomenon in the 21st century. The purpose of this study is to carry out bibliographical research, as it will use research knowledge to seek sources of knowledge on the subject discussed. It was researched in Articles and Books by renowned writers for a solid foundation for this research, authors such as Tzvetan Todorov (2004), Joseph Campbell (2018) and J.K Rowling (2015). With that, the work Harry Potter is presented as a study material to know the importance of fantastic literature for the formation of readers. The main objective of the work is to analyze the aspects of fantastic literature in the work, which contribute significantly to the formation of readers. To present the fantastic genre, and how this literature forms readers, to show the series of books as an important factor in the conception of readers, providing a reflection on the author's writing in the academic context and the positive influence of the Harry Potter series and other fantasy literary works on readers. Considering that the act of reading is complex because it has transformative power, activates awareness and eliminates alienation, we must pay attention to the formation of critical readers, and literature can be used as a tool to achieve this goal. Finally, the bottom line is that reading that is enjoyable and thought- provoking can encourage people to develop the habit of reading
