Ambição de Lady Macbeth (William Shakespeare) e a desconstrução de poder sobre a figura masculina

Abstract

Over the years, the female figure has faced countless social barriers in the search for a space to speak and for the recognition of her role as a human being and her ability to write literary. The present study aims to analyze the tragedy Macbeth, by William Shakespeare, using the Theory of Representation, Discourse Theories and Feminism, having as theoretical references Williams (2008) and Bakhtin (1986), through the dialogues between the characters that influence the categorization of Lady Macbeth. For this research, a qualitative and bibliographical approach was adopted, in which the interactions between Lady Macbeth and Lord Macbeth were analyzed in their speeches throughout the acts. Thus, this study provides a deeper understanding of Lady Macbeth's crucial role in Shakespeare's plot, demonstrating how her influence is fundamental to the development of events. The analysis of Lady Macbeth's interactions reveals how the contexts present in the dialogues shape both the narrative and the construction of the characters, while at the same time offering a reflection on the social and historical implications of female representations in literature. To this end, theoretical anchoring was sought, among others, from Bárbara Heliodora (2000), Antonio Candido (2012) and Willian (2012). The study revealed how the influencing contexts present in the dialogues shape the narrative and the construction of the characters, making Lady Macbeth not just a supporting character, but a main force that challenges and shapes Macbeth's destiny, reflecting and amplifying the tensions and conflicts of Elizabethan society.
