The relevance of the proposal lies in offering an alternative capable of addressing the absence of local history in schools and the lack of didactic materials that support teachers in this approach. To this end, we discuss the challenges and possibilities of teaching local history; the development of the Blocos Tradicionais within the so-called carnaval do samba; and the potential of sambas-enredo as pedagogical tools. We also present the development process of our proposed Educational Product, reflecting on the current relevance of games as instruments in the teaching and learning process. The research was based on specialized bibliography, newspapers from São Luís from the late twentieth century, and the lyrics of sambas-enredo from the Blocos Tradicionais.
