Hesitação vacinal e o retorno de doenças erradicadas: uma revisão bibliográfica narrativa

Título: Hesitação vacinal e o retorno de doenças erradicadas: uma revisão bibliográfica narrativa
Abstact: Vaccine hesitancy represents a growing challenge for public health in Brazil, directly
affecting vaccination coverage and contributing to the resurgence of previously controlled
diseases such as measles. This study presents a narrative literature review based on
publications from 2020 to 2025, aiming to analyze the determinants of vaccine hesitancy and
its consequences for the national epidemiological scenario. The results indicate that digital
misinformation, reduced risk perception, distrust in institutions, cultural beliefs, and barriers
to accessing health services are among the main factors that hinder adherence to vaccination.
It was also observed that declining coverage compromises herd immunity, increasing
hospitalizations, mortality, and costs for the Brazilian Unified Health System. The strategies
identified to address this phenomenon include educational actions, clear communication, the
use of digital technologies, the strengthening of public policies, and the promotion of bonds
between services and communities. In this context, nursing plays a crucial role through
qualified listening, active guidance, follow-up of missed vaccinations, and the implementation
of educational practices within Primary Health Care. It is concluded that vaccine hesitancy is
a multifactorial phenomenon that requires continuous and intersectoral responses based on
reliable information and strategies that strengthen public trust in the National Immunization
Program.

Abstact: Cervical cancer (CC) stands as a significant public health challenge in Brazil, where early detection, through the cytopathological exam (Pap smear), is the strategic axis of secondary prevention. Notwithstanding the recognized efficacy of this method, women's adherence to screening in Primary Health Care (PHC) shows coverage below the desirable level, which compromises the program's effectiveness. The present study aimed to analyze the determinants that culminate in insufficient CC screening adherence rates and to investigate the strategic role of the nurse in mitigating these barriers. To this end, the methodology adopted was an Integrative Literature Review, with a systematic analysis of a specialized documentary corpus. The research evidenced that non-adherence is intrinsically multifactorial, being modulated by subjective barriers, encompassing fear, body embarrassment, and knowledge déficit, and by structural barriers, related to difficulty accessing services, rigidity in scheduling availability, and lack of humanized reception/care. It is concluded that the nurse in PHC holds a crucial role that transcends the technical competence of sample collection, requiring the leadership of
pressing interventions in health education for demystification, the establishment of a therapeutic bond through qualified reception, and the execution of active search actions. The articulation between clinical care and process management is essential for overcoming logistical obstacles and optimizing the effectiveness of the screening.

Abstact: Healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) are infections acquired after patient admission
and manifesting during hospitalization or after discharge, when related to
hospitalization or hospital procedures. The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is a
favorable setting for the occurrence of late HAIs, due to environmental factors and
factors intrinsic to neonates. Objective to identify the risk factors associated with late
HAIs in low birth weight neonates admitted to the NICU. To achieve this objective, an
integrative literature review was conducted, descriptive in nature and qualitative in
character, using the PICo strategy to formulate the guiding question. For the
bibliographic survey, the following databases indexed to the Virtual Health Library
(VHL) were used: Online System for Searching and Analysis of Analysis of Medical
Literature (MEDLINE) and the Specialized Bibliographic Database in the field of
Nursing (BDENF), Latin American and Caribbean Health Sciences Literature (LILACS)
and Google Scholar, from August to December 2025. A total of 9 articles that answered
the guiding question were analyzed. For the discussion, 4 thematic categories were
selected: Intrinsic factors of the newborn; Factors related to newborn care;
Environmental and structural factors of the NICU; Strategies for prevention and control
of healthcare-associated infections in the NICU. Recognition of these factors is
essential for the effective implementation of prevention and control measures, ensuring
safety and quality in patient care.

Fatores sociais e culturais que levam ao desmame precoce: um projeto de intervenção

Título: Fatores sociais e culturais que levam ao desmame precoce: um projeto de intervenção
Abstact: Exclusive breastfeeding (EBF) is vital for maternal and child health; however, early weaning is often driven by misinformation and social vulnerability. This study sought to carry out educational interventions to prevent early weaning, analyzing its social and cultural determinants and providing guidance on the benefits of lactation. Action research based on Situational Strategic Planning was used, with a sample of 10 pregnant and nursing women at the Basic Health Unit (UBS) in Santa Inês, MA, between August and November 2025. The profile of the participants revealed high vulnerability and low education; however, the use of scientific evidence and clear
language generated high interest and assimilation, showing that weaning is linked to mitigable cultural factors. It is concluded that nursing intervention, focused on active listening and demystifying myths, is crucial to promote women's knowledge an autonomy, and the continuity of these actions in Primary Care is recommended for lasting health impacts.
