Abstact: This work addresses the dimensioning of a special case of ribbed slab containing&#xD;
openings in its ribs. Due to this geometric discontinuity the most appropriate&#xD;
mathematical model for dimensioning is that of strut and ties, which takes as&#xD;
calculation basis the standard truss model, idealized by Ritter Morsch, drawn from the&#xD;
paths of tensions within the studied element. This method analyzes the zones known&#xD;
as "D regions" (Discontinuity), by calculating the necessary steel reinforcement to&#xD;
reinforce the analyzed discontinuity and checking the compressed concrete struts. The&#xD;
project seeks to compare the results of the traditional dimensioning of reinforced&#xD;
concrete slabs method with the strut and ties method aiming to identify the&#xD;
effectiveness of each model to dimension ribbed slabs with openings in the ridge. The&#xD;
stress analysis of the standard truss model is performed with the aid of the SAP 2000&#xD;
software</description>

Abstact: The construction industry is recognized as an economically strategic sector, but with great potential for triggering environmental impacts in the conduct of its main activities&#xD;
and support. Small and medium companies are responsible for supporting activities&#xD;
and can also carry out part of the main activities. This research aims to expose the organizational structure, planning activities, responsibilities, laws, standards, procedures, and processes to develop and implement a waste management plan, as well as to identify the environmental aspects related to the provision of activities carried out by small and medium companies that provide services to the construction industry, aiming at their adaptation to environmental waste management regulations. For this purpose, a questionnaire was applied to six small and medium construction companies in the city of São Luís of Maranhão. Thus, through the answers, it was possible to observe that such regulations still do not reach all companies. The noncompliance occurs, mainly because there is not a regular control by the public power, requiring planning of actions, reducing waste generation and management processes that control the irregular deposition of construction and demolition waste</description>

Abstact: The aim of this work is a study of the plaster and its derivatives as a building material, focusing on all application possibilities in construction. Another aspect analyzed regarding the plaster is the aid of this material to innovate new features and technologies. It was also made a comparative study material with all others that can be used in its place, showing advantages and disadvantages in their use, in order to verify the background the real implications in the use of the material studied, for it has been studied since the value service and productivity on the job site. Plaster coatings, plaster blocks and drywall were some of the items studied &#xD;
in this work. The work consists of making considerations about the use of plaster and differentiates it from other materials used as cement mortar and sand, PVC liners and ceramic walls. It was also demonstrated the various ways we have to make the reuse of gypsum waste, thus making the plaster to be a very sustainable material</description>
