Alcântara, terra de interesses: desafios e perspectivas da identidade da agricultura familiar na comunidade quilombola de Mamuna no município de Alcântara-MA

Abstract

This paper sought to explain the situation in Alcântara-MA, specifically in the remaining quilombo community of Mamuna, the empirical field of this dissertation, in which we tried to highlight the situation experienced by the communities in the face of a new threat of expulsion from their territories, which could jeopardize their subsistence work and eradicate their ethnic identity. With their territoriality compromised due to the advance of a large technological framework, the Mamuna community, along with the other communities, have joined forces and through their representativeness are maintaining their resistance by fighting for their right to their ancestral territory. It is worth noting that this struggle against this new territorial order and structural racism, the latter considered an obstacle in the resolution of land titling, which to this day has never been issued. All this tangle of social contrasts compromises the daily lives of the communities that fear a new expansion of the Alcântara Launch Center (CLA), since if it expands again the consequences will be catastrophic, as it will impact all the production systems of family farming, fishing and housing of this population. This study was guided by the historical and dialectical materialist method in order to understand the historical construction and interpret this reality where man is inserted
