Abstract

This work has the Tourism Management at study object as development tool in the municipality of Icatu, Maranhão. Having as goal: how to analyze tourism management influence on the local development of the municipality. Listing the potential listing the limitations to the development of tourism and presenting solutions. The question investigated was: How tourism management can identify the tourism potential and turn them into development tools, on the assumption that all natural potential or artificial tourism product may become source of income and helps to improve the quality of lifeto citizens of Icatu. Furthermore,investigate how the tourism management is working in this direction. Therefore, from literature was taken some concepts and technical foundation - Science that served as the foundation for the diagnosis of field research, to identify problems and propose solutions, always seeking to achieve success in the proposed activities.
