Patrulha Maria da Penha na polícia militar do Maranhão: análise da efetividade no combate e redução dos índices de violência doméstica contra a mulher

Abstract

This monographic work deals with domestic violence, a social phenomenon suffered by several women that has its origins from the beginning to the present day. Even with the equalization of rights between men and women enshrined in the Federal Constitution of 1988, in its article 5, item I and in article 226, § 5, the ideology of patriarchal society still exists. In the construction of this work, we sought to carry out a brief historical review of Brazil, women and violence, bringing the importance and mechanisms of Law No. 11.340 / 2006, Law Maria da Penha, as a tooll that to curb and prevent violence domestic and family violence against women in their family context. In addition, the role played by Patrol Maria da Penha in the Military Police of Maranhão has been primarily focused, from its emergence to its role in combating and reducing the rates of violence against women, serving its primary purpose
