Abstact: Homophobia is routinely present in society, especially at school, where different &#xD;
personalities and genders come together in the same environment. In which, the &#xD;
school is a crucial point for work aimed at sex education and with regard to the fight &#xD;
against homophobia, as it has the social function of training young people who are &#xD;
able to live in a democratic and diverse society. In this sense, the general objective of &#xD;
this research was to promote awareness about homophobia through Sexual &#xD;
Education actions in a teaching institution in the municipality of Pinheiro - MA. &#xD;
Therefore, this research is an exploratory quali-quantitative study, structured in three &#xD;
components: (I) data obtained from interviews, documents, observations, recordings &#xD;
and records; (II) the means used to organize the data that were collected; (III) and &#xD;
the records of verbal and written reports, in which it focused on the application for &#xD;
managers and students of the 1st and 2nd grades of High School of the two shifts of &#xD;
the Federal Institute of Maranhão. Thus, through the data obtained, it is possible to &#xD;
perceive the mechanisms used by managers to be used to face homophobia in the &#xD;
school environment and the methodologies applied for teaching sex education in the &#xD;
classroom with students. In addition, educational barriers were identified that the &#xD;
educational institution encounters in its insertion of the theme within the school &#xD;
environment, thus causing deficits in relation to this agenda. In this sense, the &#xD;
respondents participating in the survey pointed out that although there are no serious &#xD;
cases within the school, it is not a totally safe place for sexual freedom either. &#xD;
Therefore, it is evident the need to carry out activities and/or projects that focus on &#xD;
sex education and the problems that homophobia causes in the lives of adolescents.</description>

Abstact: The COVID-19 is an infectious disease caused by the SARS-COV-2 coronavirus and &#xD;
its main symptoms are: fever, tiredness, dry cough and lung impairment, in most &#xD;
cases. The disease caused by public health problems and problems related to &#xD;
economy, education, economy and environment. Thus, it is necessary to &#xD;
characterize the SARS-CoV-2 virus and describe the effects that this virus caused &#xD;
worldwide during the 2020-2021 biennium. For this, a bibliographical research, &#xD;
discussion and analysis of documents published between 2020 and 2022 in the form &#xD;
of magazines, texts, articles and books was carried out. Where it was possible to &#xD;
identify factors, such as, for example, that the COVID-19 pandemic brought the &#xD;
imposition of drastic measures of social, family and even professional distance, &#xD;
making it impossible for everyone to do their normal activities. This restriction, &#xD;
together with the worsening public health situation in Brazil, has an impact on several &#xD;
sectors of our society. And last but not least, the study made it possible to analyze &#xD;
and characterize the SARS-CoV-2 virus and describe the effects that this virus &#xD;
caused worldwide during the 2020-2021 biennium.</description>
