Abstact: This study aimed to investigate the effects of an intervention involving playful physical
exercises on motor performance and heart rate variability (HRV) in children with Level
1 Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), aged 6 to 10 years, participants in an Inclusive
Physical Education extension project. This is a field research with a cross-sectional
design and a quantitative approach. The sample consisted of seven children, divided
into an experimental group (EG), n=5, who participated in the intervention for one year
with a frequency of twice a week, and a control group (CG), n=2, who did not participate
in the activities. The study followed ethical principles and was approved under opinion
no. 6.991.137 (CEP/UEMA). Motor performance was assessed using the Test of Gross
Motor Development 3 Second Edition (TGMD-2), while HRV was analyzed using linear
methods in the time and frequency domains, with a Polar V800 device. Inclusion criteria
included an ASD diagnosis, school enrollment, and participation in the project; children
who did not complete the tests were excluded. Data were analyzed using Jamovi
software, applying Student’s t-test and Fisher’s Exact Test, with a significance level of
5%. Results showed that although the EG demonstrated better motor performance and
greater parasympathetic autonomic modulation compared to the CG, these differences
were not statistically significant. Percentage analysis showed that 100% of the control
group was classified as <very poor= in motor performance, while the experimental group
was distributed among the categories <very poor,= <poor,= and <below average.=
Regarding HRV, the values of RMSSD, pNN50, and LF/HF indicated a trend toward
lower physiological stress in the EG. These findings suggest initial positive effects of the
intervention, although not statistically robust, possibly due to the small sample size. The
literature suggests that protocols with higher weekly frequency, prolonged duration, and
controlled intensity tend to produce more significant results in motor and physiological
aspects in children with ASD. It is concluded that the physical intervention showed
favorable trends toward improvement in motor performance and autonomic modulation
in children with ASD, highlighting the need for future studies with larger samples,
controlled activity intensity and duration, and longitudinal assessments to further
investigate the effects of physical exercise on neuromotor and hemodynamic aspects in
individuals with ASD

O ensino da educação física nas salas de aula de Atendimento Educacional Especializado (AEE)

Título: O ensino da educação física nas salas de aula de Atendimento Educacional Especializado (AEE)
Abstact: This article aimed to investigate the teaching of Physical Education in the Special Education Program in the city of Buriti Bravo, Maranhão, seeking to understand how this discipline is being developed with students who have special educational needs. This descriptive research, with a qualitative and quantitative approach, was conducted with a teacher from the municipal public school system working in the Special
Education Program in the city of Buriti Bravo, Maranhão. The results indicated that the teacher has a degree in Pedagogy and a specialization in Special/Inclusive Education. The content analysis (Bardin, 2016) allowed us to stratify the following main axes highlighted: the school's deficient infrastructure; the reduced quantity and absence of adequate materials for carrying out activities; the main content applied is focused on
the development of motor coordination and social skills, and the engagement strategies are cooperative games and playful activities. However, it is believed that it is essential to specifically hire Physical Education teachers for the AEE, as well as to improve school infrastructure, increase the availability of teaching resources and expand pedagogical strategies, in addition to investments in the ongoing training of
teachers, in order to guarantee a truly inclusive and effective education for the target audience

Abstact: Physical activity is vital at any age, as it is a means of improving health and providing quality
of life for everyone, and it is also a great way of preventing non-communicable diseases. In
addition, it improves the cognitive aspect, which allows students to have more agile reflexes
and greater concentration in school or academic activities. This study sought to verify the
influence of regular physical exercise on the quality of life of students in the Physical
Education Bachelor's degree course at the State University of Maranhão. A field study was
developed with students of both sexes enrolled in all periods of the Physical Education
Bachelor's degree course at UEMA, São João dos Patos campus. The International Physical
Activity Level Assessment Questionnaire (IPAQ) and the Pittsburgh Sleep Assessment Scale
(PSQI) were used. In addition to regular physical activity, it is essential to highlight the role
of sleep in the quality of life of students. Adequate sleep is essential for physical and mental
recovery, good academic performance and maintenance of general health. The study revealed
that the majority of students are "active" or "very active", as expected for the course.
However, there was also a focus on "insufficiently active" and "inactive" students, indicating
the need for more incentives to practice regular exercise. An increase in physical activity was
observed in the final periods, possibly due to greater professional maturity. In the first
semester, four students (12.5%) reported poor sleep quality. In the third semester, this number
increased to six students, representing 28.57% of the class. In the fifth semester, four students
(26.67%) reported poor sleep, while in the sixth semester, three students (20%) were
identified with this condition. Finally, in the eighth semester, two students (18.18%) reported
unsatisfactory sleep quality. These results demonstrate that, despite variations between
semesters, a portion of students face difficulties related to sleep quality, which can directly
impact their academic performance, as well as their physical and mental health. The study
reinforces the importance of institutional strategies for health promotion and suggests that
future research should expand the sample and include variables such as diet, mental health
and academic workload

Relação entre nível de atividade física, aptidão física e índice acadêmico de universitários em São João dos Patos - MA.

Título: Relação entre nível de atividade física, aptidão física e índice acadêmico de universitários em São João dos Patos - MA.
Abstact: This study aims to investigate the relationship between physical activity level, physical
fitness, and academic performance among university students in São João dos Patos,
Maranhão. The research was conducted with 52 Physical Education students at the
Maranhão State University (UEMA) - São João dos Patos Campus. A cross-sectional
study design was adopted, combining quantitative and qualitative approaches, and
followed by five stages. The first was sociodemographic characterization, followed by
verification of anthropometric and body composition measurements. The fourth stage
consisted of analysis of variance (ANOVA) (Welch and Fisher) and Pearson's
correlation coefficient, and finally, the administration of the short version of the IPAQ
questionnaire. The collected data were analyzed using Pearson's correlation
coefficients, which were used to assess the linear correlation between the physical
activity level and academic performance measurements. The results indicated no
significant correlation between physical activity level and academic performance.
However, a positive association was identified between physical activity and push-up
performance, as well as a strong correlation between muscle strength tests. The
conclusion is that, although it does not influence academic performance, physical
activity is related to better physical fitness levels. We suggest expanding future
research with larger samples and more analytical variables
