Gonçalves Dias perceive "recreational racism"—defined as a cultural practice that uses humor and jokes to position Black individuals as inferior (Moreira, 2019). Among these young people, the phenomenon manifests in everyday interactions within the school environment—a space where diverse identities converge and where racism often goes unnoticed, dismissed as mere "joking." This qualitative field study employs non-participant observation to identify the attitudes, speech, and specific jokes associated with recreational racism among the youth at C.E. Gonçalves Dias and to analyze the impact on their interpersonal relationships. The study draws on the work of theorists such as Silvio Almeida (2019), Adilson Moreira (2019), Djamila Ribeiro (2019), Grada Kilomba (2018), Nilma Lino Gomes (2021), Hall (2014), Antônio Groppo (2018), Munanga (2005), Lilia Schwarcz (2011), Cecília da Silva (2011), and Lelia Gonzalez (1984), among others. Starting from the same point, we will also use the fundamental concepts addressed by the author to understand the importance of such a discussion. Seen, in order to work on the concept of cultural capital, if it is done necessary to understand about Bourdieu's theory of practice, where by means of this, can also conceptualize the theory of habitus and the theory of the field, both of which, are extremely important for the scientific formation of the author's knowledge. Thus, the problems related to this phenomenon were impacted by State intervention, institutions and public policies, the result of social movements that fought for the rights of these subjects. Thus, the present work has the goal to analyze performance of the Mãos Amigas Project in the fight against poverty of children and adolescents in the municipality of Caxias - MA. The research is of a qualitative-quantitative nature, in which fieldwork was carried out with a subject who acted in the Mãos amigos project and dice published by the Social Assistance Research Entity. The process of obtaining empirical data took place through semi-structured and the use of dice from the 2015 PEAS in social assistance units in Maranhão, in line with the empirical data of the research. Evidently poverty is a condition capable of depriving individuals of freedom and both empirical data and census research data demonstrated the existence of this factor. In this sense, education is a tool that offers children and adolescents means of subversion through awareness of violence and moves them to overcome deprivation.
