Título: Taxonomia de Xanthacrona Wulp, 1899 (Diptera: Ulidiidae) dos estados do Maranhão, Piauí e Ceará, Brasil
Abstact: The study on the diversity of Xanthacrona was carried out with specimens collected in the Reserve Ecology of Inhamum, city of Caxias-MA. It was also analized specimes deposited in the collection of the specimens studied were collected in the states of Maranhão, Piauí and Ceará. During the analyzes, four species were identified: Xanthacrona bipustulata Wulp, 1899, X. phyllochaeta Hendel, 1909, X. tripustulata Enderlein, 1921 and X. tuberosa Cresson 1908, these were recorded from 534, 3, 2 and 1 specimen, respectively. X. bipustulata and X tripustulata are registered by the first time for the state of Piauí. X. tuberosa was registered only in the state of Ceará, being also, your first record for the same. For Maranhão, there are new records of two species, X. tripustulata and X. tuberose.

Abstact: The living area of an invidious or specie can be characterized by the used space to develop the vital functionals of its survival. Malacoptila minor (Birds, Bucconidae) presents restricted distribution, with occurrences in the states of Maranhão and Piaui. It’s the only representor of the threaten of excitation family, classified in the “in danger” category in a global level. The present study had as aim to evaluate the living area of live of M. minor in the Área de Proteção Ambiental (APA) of Inhamum, Caxias, Maranhão. The APA of Inhamum characterize for represent a typic vegetation of Cerrado, with influences of elements of Amazônia and Caatinga. The collections had begun in June of 2018. It was utilized the active search method with the use of playblack. The birds were monitored regularly by active search with the binocular help having their positions demarcated in a GPS Garmin eTrex 10. It was utilized the least convex polygon method for the calculate of living area, in the software QGIS 3.6.1. The sampling effort spent for the location of the territories, capture and marking of the individuals and monitoring, between June of 2018 and December of 2019, was of about 475,3h of field. During the monitoring of 10 individuals of M. minor ringed was demarked 1.412 points of localization. The living area of M. minor, according the method of MPC, was of 1,51 ± 0,40 ha, with the variation of 0,84 to 1,95 ha. According with the stimulator Kernel (95%), the medium area of living was 1,00 ± 0,33 ha, variating of 0,45 to 1,75 ha. But the code area (K50%) presented medium of 0,25 ± 0,09 ha, what corresponds to 25% of living area estimated by K95%. Though the size of the living area of the individuals (n=9) from M. minor off the reproductive season (April to august) was of 1,19 ± 0,66 ha, (MPC), 0,08 ± 0,51 ha (Kernel 95%) by the estimator Kernel and 0,21 ± 0,14 ha (Kernel 50%). The first two axes of PCA explained 73,6% of the variation of data (PCA1 = 52,3%, PCA2 = 21,3%). The results of this study provide subsidies for new studies and can help in the creation of a unity of conservation and legislation to conserve of the specie

Título: Diversidade de insetos da ordem plecoptera (insecta) em riachos do leste maranhense, Brasil
Abstact: Aquatic insects are one of the main groups of fauna of benthic macroinvertebrates in aquatic ecosystems, they have great ecological importance, participating in food chains and being one of the main links in the trophic structures of the ecosystem. Of the aquatic insects Plecoptera is a small order, found in different substrates of aquatic environments, they are organisms sensitive to environmental disturbances and occur mainly in clean and well-oxygenated waters, they are a group that has called a lot of attention for its potential as an indicator of environmental quality. The objective of this work is to verify the richness, diversity of the order Plecoptera in streams belonging to the East of Maranhão with emphasis on the micro-region of Caxias and Codó. Aquatic entomological net in D (rapiché) and manual collection in a 50m transect was used to collect. The specimens were packaged and transported to the aquatic entomology laboratory at the Center for Higher Studies in Caxias - CESC / UEMA and identified at the gender level and fixed in 80% ethyl alcohol. The streams under study are first order (Sumidouro do Padre) and second order (Baixa grande, Baixa Grande II, Buriti Corrente, Correntinho, Primavera). So far a total of 195 specimens of nymphs have been collected, distributed in six streams, all specimens collected belong to the family Perlidae genus Anacroneuria Klapálek, 1909, of the collected substrates the greatest abundance occurred in leaf with 136 specimens, followed by the stone substrate with 29 specimens. The creation of nymphs in the laboratory resulted in the emergence of six females and four male specimen.

Estudo taxonômico de Epidendrum L. (Laeliinae‒Orchidaceae) no estado do Maranhão, Nordeste do Brasil

Título: Estudo taxonômico de Epidendrum L. (Laeliinae‒Orchidaceae) no estado do Maranhão, Nordeste do Brasil
Abstact: The Brazilian state of Maranhão is located in a transition zone between the Amazon and Cerrado domains; its geographic position enables the coexistence of species from both biomes. Taxonomic information of Orchidaceae and especially Epidendrum in the state are scarce; thus, this study aimed to provide a taxonomic treatment for the genus based on field expeditions and analyses of herbarium specimens (IAN, MAR, MG, NY, SLUI, and UB). Epidendrum is represented in Maranhão by 10 species, of which three are new records: E. amapense, E. anceps, and E. carpophorum. Another three previously cited species, E. nocturnum, E. sculptum, and E. viviparum, were not collected and not found in the herbaria visited; moreover, these records represent misidentifications. The majority of the species is distributed in the Amazon domain; however, E. macrocarpum is recorded for the first time for the Brazilian Cerrado. Here we provide an identification key, descriptions, photographs, and a distribution map of the species in the state.
