Ensino de língua portuguesa à luz da teoria das operações predicativas e enunciativas: descrição e reflexão

Título: Ensino de língua portuguesa à luz da teoria das operações predicativas e enunciativas: descrição e reflexão
Abstact: This article aims to analyze the contributions of the Theory of Predicative and
Enunciative Operations - TOPE, developed by Antoine Culioli (1990, 1999a, 1999b, 2018), to
the teaching of grammar and Portuguese language. The study is grounded in the conception of
language as an activity of construction and regulation of values, in which meanings result from
cognitive and linguistic operations performed by subjects in situation. From a methodological
perspective, this is a qualitative study of a bibliographical and analytical-interpretative nature,
whose corpus consists of four scientific articles selected according to criteria of theoretical and
methodological relevance. Each article is examined in a specific section, allowing for the
description of the operations mobilized in different teaching proposals and for the establishment
of relations among distinct analytical frameworks. The results indicate the possibility of moving
away from normative and dichotomous approaches toward practices that take into account the
functioning of language in use, particularly with regard to the articulation between reading
activities, interpretation, and grammatical reflection. It is concluded that TOPE provides
consistent theoretical foundations for the development of teaching proposals that consider
grammar as an analytical tool for examining enunciative operations and the construction of
values in language activity

Úrsula, de Maria Firmina dos Reis, sob o olhar da crítica feminista

Título: Úrsula, de Maria Firmina dos Reis, sob o olhar da crítica feminista
Abstact: This article analyzes the novel Úrsula (1859/2020) by Maria Firmina dos Reis from a feminist
critical perspective. The aim is to demonstrate how Maria Firmina, a Black and poor woman,
subverts the gender and race roles imposed on women in 19th-century Maranhão. The analysis,
focused on the characters Úrsula (the mistress) and Preta Susana (the slave), reveals that the
bond of solidarity between them is a pioneering act that criticizes patriarchal-slaveholding
oppression and anticipates the anti-racist and feminist debate. This study also describes the
socio-political role played by women in Maranhão in the 19th century and the conduct of Maria
Firmina dos Reis, allowing for an analysis of the work Úrsula (1859/2020), considering the
theories of Simone de Beauvoir (2009), Norma Telles (1997), Elaine Showalter (1989), and
other authors

Glosa e parafrasagem em perspectiva semântica-operatória: análise comparativa de procedimentos

Título: Glosa e parafrasagem em perspectiva semântica-operatória: análise comparativa de procedimentos
Abstact: Abstract: Based on the Theory of Predicative and Enunciative Operations (TOPE), developed
by the French linguist Antoine Culioli (1990, 1999a, 1999b), and on the studies of his
followers, such as Rezende (2010), Pria (2009), Romero and Vilela (2020), and Franckel
(2011), this study seeks to explicate how the procedures of glossing and paraphrasing are
mobilized by Brazilian researchers working within the Culiolian framework. The research is
bibliographical and theoretical-analytical in nature, and its corpus consists of four scientific
articles published between 2018 and 2025, which investigate different linguistic objects in
Brazilian Portuguese, namely: the adjective false, the functioning of prepositions and prefixes,
prepositional relations, and number agreement. Through a comparative analysis, the study
aims to describe and discuss how four Culiolian researchers mobilize the concepts of glossing
and paraphrasing in their investigations developed within the scope of TOPE. The results
reveal convergences and divergences in the ways these authors employ glossing and
paraphrasing to make explicit the semantic-enunciative operations responsible for the
construction of meaning values of the linguistic units analyzed within the Theory of
Predicative and Enunciative Operations

Procedimentos de glosa e parafrasagem na TOPE: descrição analítica e reflexiva

Título: Procedimentos de glosa e parafrasagem na TOPE: descrição analítica e reflexiva
Abstact: This work aims to investigate how the concepts of gloss and paraphrase are
mobilized in Culiolian studies, from the perspective of the Theory of Predicative and
Enunciative Operations (TOPE). To this end, we conducted bibliographic research based on
the analysis of four theoretical articles: Valentim's (2021) research on the theoretical and
methodological characteristics of TOPE; Moreno's (2022) work on the enunciative
functioning of exclamatory statements; Sousa and Pria's (2024) investigation into the
functioning of the linguistic unit NOVO; and finally, Souza and Pria's (2025) operational
study of reflexivity. The methodological approach consisted of identifying and describing the
analytical procedures employed by the authors in the mobilization of gloss and paraphrase, as
well as comparing the different modes of operation of these concepts in relation to the linguistic objects analyzed. The results show that, although the authors share the theoretical
assumptions of TOPE, glossing and paraphrasing are used in distinct ways, assuming specific
functions in the construction of descriptive hypotheses, in the analysis of inferential processes,
and in the description of the semantic-enunciative functioning of linguistic units. In general,
the analyses confirm that glossing and paraphrasing constitute central theoreticalmethodological
procedures in the Culiolian perspective, since they allow the operations
performed by subjects in language activity to become visible, reinforcing the conception that
meaning is not pre-constructed, but is the result of the interaction between subjects in
enunciative situations
