Título: Proposta de solução acústica para sala de música utilizando painéis de fibra de coco e drywall: um estudo aplicado à Escola de Música Maestro Almir Garcez Assaí, em Bacabal – MA
Abstact: This work proposes an innovative acoustic solution for classrooms, using panels made from
coconut fiber waste in conjunction with the drywall system. The research was applied at the
Maestro Almir Garcez Assaí Music School (EMMAGA) in Bacabal-MA, aiming to address the
growing need for sustainable solutions in civil construction and the potential of green coconut
husk fiber, an abundant waste in Brazil, as a sound-absorbing material. Initially, the sound
conditions of room D-01 at EMMAGA were assessed through measurements of sound pressure
levels, according to NBR 10152:2020, and estimation of reverberation time, using the Norris
Eyring formula with the Reverb software, identifying deficiencies that compromise acoustic
comfort. Subsequently, the performance of the proposed intervention, which combines coconut
panels and double wall gypsum board, was simulated again adopting the absorption coefficients
of the fiber panels and absorbing elements for calculation purposes, eleven musicians seated
with instruments. The simulation results demonstrated a significant reduction and balance in
reverberation, validating the effectiveness of the proposed solution. It is concluded that this
combination of materials represents a viable, sustainable, and high-performance alternative for
sound optimization in educational environments.

Manifestações patológicas na construção civil: revisão bibliográfica para identificação de problemas e estratégias para preservação

Título: Manifestações patológicas na construção civil: revisão bibliográfica para identificação de problemas e estratégias para preservação
Abstact: Assessing, diagnosing and preserving properties affected by pathologies are essential
steps to prevent problems from becoming more serious, offering safety to users and
ensuring the longevity of buildings. Maintaining the integrity of structures through
efficient preventive maintenance ensures protection while also contributing to the
sustainability and preservation of architectural heritage, avoiding waste and high costs
in the future. The objective, therefore, was to investigate the influence of pathological
manifestations in civil construction, aiming at the evaluation, diagnosis and
preservation of properties. Methodologically, it was an exploratory and comparative
bibliographic review based on qualitative research. As a result, it was found that
conservation measures are not always easy and can entail high costs, especially in
older buildings, where losses can be considerable. Therefore, a thorough assessment
of the pathology, combined with appropriate planning of resources and techniques, is
essential to ensure the effectiveness of repairs and the lasting maintenance of
buildings. It was also concluded that defects identified in constructions require a
thorough examination and efficient corrective actions to ensure the safety and
longevity of buildings. Carrying out an appropriate diagnosis, along with well-planned
and implemented corrective actions, can prevent the deterioration of structures and
help create a safer urban environment.

Abstact: This final project focuses on pathological manifestations of moisture in homes affected
by the Mearim River floods, focusing on homes located on Rua Santa Teresinha, in the
municipality of Bcabal, Maranhão. The overall objective is to diagnose the pathological
manifestations resulting from moisture in the affected homes, as well as describe and
present these anomalies, evaluate the construction systems, and identify aspects
related to safety, health, and habitability. The research was developed with the
combination of two methods, descriptive and exploratory, through a qualitative
approach, using bibliographic surveys, visual inspections and photographic records,
carried out during the month of May 2024. Four residences that present similar
construction characteristics were analyzed, composed of masonry walls, without a
conventional structural system (beams and pillars), with painted and ceramic coverings
and, in some cases, exposed subfloor. The main pathological manifestations identified
were damp patches, mold, mildew, peeling mortar and paint, and hygroscopic cracks.
The results indicate that, although no imminent risk of structural collapse was
observed, the buildings are in unsanitary conditions, compromising the comfort,
habitability, and health of residents, particularly due to the presence of significant
internal humidity and insufficient ventilation. The conclusion is that moisture from floods
significantly contributes to the degradation of building elements and the loss of
residential performance, necessitating the adoption of corrective and preventive
measures, although it is recognized that, in the context analyzed, families lack the
resources to carry out these interventions. The study contributes technically to the field
of Civil Engineering by understanding the pathological manifestations of moisture, and
socially by highlighting the importance of public policies for technical assistance in
social housing.

Abstact: The construction industry plays a vital role in society's development, utilizing a variety
of resources to achieve results. However, this scenario promotes the generation of
waste that negatively impacts the environment and compromises the comprehensive
development of sustainability in civil engineering. In this context, this study seeks to
evaluate the management practices used on construction sites by identifying waste
types, analyzing daily management practices, and recommending best practices. To
this end, a structured questionnaire was administered to construction professionals to
understand their perceptions of waste management on construction sites in the region,
based on a literature review and a structured interview with the Municipal Department
of the Environment. The results revealed that the lack of a sanitary landfill hindered the
effective implementation of management measures. It also revealed that sorting is an
effective method for management within the construction site, as it facilitates the
identification of materials for possible reuse or recycling. Nevertheless, it was proven
that the main measure is the reduction that can be incorporated into the project
planning through the use of BIM technology. The study notes that the main waste
materials discarded at construction sites are masonry, wood, concrete, plaster, and
plastic. Therefore, the main obstacle to implementing management measures is the
culture of improper disposal. Therefore, the main solution is environmental education.
