Abstact: The commercialization of fruits and vegetables is a critical stage in the supply chain, especially&#xD;
in urban centers where the demand for fresh food is high. This study aimed to diagnose the&#xD;
commercialization conditions, losses, and hygienic-sanitary aspects of fruits and vegetables at&#xD;
the Supply Center of Maranhão (CEASA), in São Luís – MA. Twenty points of sale were&#xD;
evaluated through the application of questionnaires and interviews with vendors. The fruits with&#xD;
the highest losses were grapes (1035 kg/week), melon (473.5 kg), and papaya (345.3 kg), while&#xD;
among vegetables, potatoes (622 kg), carrots (405 kg), and onions (370 kg) stood out. Lettuce&#xD;
and parsley showed high loss rates and non-conformities in quality standards, especially in&#xD;
firmness, absence of damage, and dehydration. Only 37.5% of the stalls sold certified products,&#xD;
and 50% offered items with labeling and traceability. The hygienic-sanitary conditions were&#xD;
also concerning: 62.5% of the stalls had pest infestations, and only 7.5% had proper sanitary&#xD;
facilities. It is concluded that there are significant structural and operational deficiencies,&#xD;
requiring public and educational actions aimed at improving commercialization practices, food&#xD;
safety, and loss reduction.</description>

Abstact: Forest seeds have great social, economic, and ecological importance, as they are&#xD;
essential resources for species reproduction, contributing to the conservation and maintenance&#xD;
of ecosystem functional dynamics. Therefore, forest seeds used for seedling production and the&#xD;
recovery of degraded areas must originate from mother trees that exhibit superior visual and&#xD;
physiological traits compared to others. Thus, the objective of this study was to evaluate the&#xD;
physical, physiological, and sanitary quality of seeds from different mother trees of Bixa&#xD;
arborea Huber (swamp annatto). The experiments were conducted at the Tissue Culture&#xD;
Laboratory (LCT), Seed Laboratories (LSs), Plant Pathology and Plant Health Laboratory&#xD;
(LFF), Environmental Sciences and Biodiversity Laboratory (LCAB), and greenhouse facilities&#xD;
belonging to the Tissue Culture Laboratory (LCT) at the State University of Maranhão, São&#xD;
Luís – MA campus. The experimental design was completely randomized (CRD), with five&#xD;
different mother trees (Luzinete 1, Luzinete 2, Luzinete 3, Luzinete 4, and Maria Colíder) and&#xD;
four replicates, totaling 20 experimental units. Data were subjected to Tukey's test. Among the&#xD;
five mother trees analyzed, Luzinete 1 stood out in terms of physical quality, presenting higher&#xD;
moisture content. Regarding physiological quality, it showed superior shoot length, vigor index&#xD;
I and II, fresh and dry mass of normal seedlings, seedling emergence, emergence speed index,&#xD;
and stem diameter. For sanitary quality, Luzinete 1 had the lowest fungal incidence, with&#xD;
Aspergillus being the most frequently observed fungal genus. Overall, Luzinete 1 exhibited the&#xD;
best physiological performance and is therefore considered the most suitable for forestry&#xD;
purposes.</description>

Abstact: The cotton plant crop presents high sensitivity to water deficit, which compromises its&#xD;
development and productivity. In this context, the present study had as objective to&#xD;
evaluate the effects of the cotton seed treatment with Bacillus aryabhattai and Arbolina&#xD;
on germination, emergence, rooting, development and productivity of the crop submitted&#xD;
to water stress. The experiment was conducted on a laboratory and a greenhouse, utilizing&#xD;
BRS 700 B3RF cultivar seeds. The experimental design adopted was completely&#xD;
randomized in a 2 × 4 × 2 factorial scheme, considering the presence or absence of&#xD;
Bacillus aryabhattai (Auras️) inoculation, four doses of Arbolina (0, 2, 4 e 8 mL kg⁻¹ of&#xD;
seed) and two water regimes (irrigated and deficit). The analyzed variables included&#xD;
germination and emergence rates, emergence The cotton plant crop presents high&#xD;
sensitivity to water deficit, which compromises its speed index, shoot and root systems&#xD;
dry mass, as well as the plant development under water stress conditions. The laboratory&#xD;
results indicated a significant effect of Auras (Bacillus aryabhattai) and Arbolina&#xD;
treatments on germination and root development, with the 4 ml kg⁻¹ Auras dose showing&#xD;
the highest germination percentage. The interaction between the factors significantly&#xD;
influenced the seedling emergence and the germination speed index. Complementary&#xD;
studies will be conducted to evaluate the impacts on the final crop productivity.</description>

Abstact: Precision agriculture has expanded with the use of technologies such as drones, enabling&#xD;
efficient crop monitoring. This study aimed to evaluate the performance of a human-powered&#xD;
seeder in the longitudinal distribution of maize (Zea mays L.) seeds using aerial images&#xD;
captured by a drone. The experiment was conducted under no-tillage conditions in Bom Lugar&#xD;
– Maranhão, Brazil. DJI Mini 3 drone flights were carried out at different phenological stages&#xD;
of the crop, generating orthomosaics and Digital Elevation Models (DEM) using Agisoft&#xD;
Metashape software. Planting failures were estimated through supervised classification in the&#xD;
SPRING software, allowing the identification of plantability gaps, stand uniformity issues,&#xD;
and operational deficiencies in the seeder. The results demonstrated that drone technology is&#xD;
effective for diagnostics and agronomic decision-making in small-scale farming systems,&#xD;
contributing to resource optimization and increased productivity.</description>
