Abstact: Regulatory Standard No. 10, issued by the Ministry of Labor and Employment, is a special standard and its main objective is to prevent accidents among workers who interact directly or indirectly with high and low voltage electrical installations and equipment. It requires companies with an installed load of more than 75 kW (kilowatts) to implement and update the Electrical Installations Plan, for those operating in or near the Electric Power System (EPS). The Electrical Installation Records is a living set of documents about the electrical installations, the workers, the training they have received, the collective and individual protection equipment and all the procedures to be carried out when working with electricity. In this article, we have studied electrical risks, occupational health and safety legislation, as well as the responsibilities of effective accident prevention measures, and we have mentioned some of the main documents that should make up the Electrical Installations Record, which is a tool to be used to manage the electrical risks to which workers may be exposed. Through this study, it became clear that an up-to-date EIP can prevent, in addition to fatal accidents, compensation payments and labor fines, expenses due to the lack of occupational risk management, loss of electrical installations and equipment due to fires caused by short circuits or arcs, problems with the labor courts and labor inspection bodies, and can also prevent the organization from having its image tarnished in the labor market.
